GE14: Avoid complacency, Batang Sadong rep reminds constituents

-

KUCHING: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri is hoping that her Batang Sadong constituents would work together with her in ensuring that the seat would be delivered to Barisan Nasional ( BN) in the 14th general election (GE14).

According to her, it is important for everyone to work together to make sure that the people’s needs are heard.

Adding on, she reminds all BN supporters to not take what they have for granted, despite Batang Sadong being the traditional BN stronghold.

“We must not be complacent. We have to make sure that we work hard and remember why the people voted for us in the first place,” she spoke at the opening of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) delegates meeting for the Gedong and Simunjan branches, at Penview Hotel here yesterday.

Nancy also pointed out that she was against the practice of PBB members, especially those from her area, contesting against other BN candidates in parliamentary areas that do not belong to PBB.

“BN is a big family and we could not allow that to happen. Please do not vote for people who are like that in your area,” she said.

Eight-hundred PBB members from Gedong and Simunjan branches are expected to attend the delegates meeting, which will run at the hotel till tomorrow.

Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris was also present at the ceremony.
