KAPIT: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing says the people here must throw their full support behind Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong in the coming general election to benefit from funds at both state and federal level.

He said having Barisan Nasional (BN) representatives at both levels will translate to millions of ringgit in allocation for village security and development committees (JKKKs), schools, associations, as well as sports and recreational clubs.

“The incumbent BN candidate for Hulu Rajang, Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong will defend his seat in the coming general election. I appeal to all to give your full support to Ugak.

“The benefit of having both state and parliamentary constituencies represented by BN is you stand to receive millions (of ringgit) in allocation from the state assemblyman and MP. That is the reason why you must support the BN candidate,” said Masing during the distribution of minor rural project ( MRP) funds to 46 organisations here on Saturday.

Among the recipients were associations, sports clubs, religious institutions, parentteacher associations and JKKKs.

In his brief remarks, Masing said his MRP fund of RM4.5 million for his Baleh constituency has benefitted 320 organisations this year.

Among those present at the handing- over ceremony were Ugak, Kapit District Officer Elvis Didit, and Bukit Mabong District Officer Douglas Pungga.
