Hope Place Kuching goes on 5th Charity Without Borders Expedition

-

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching is embarking on their fifth Charity Without Borders (CWB5) Expedition tomorrow (Dec 8) until Dec 10.

Started five years ago by Hope Place Kuching founder Kelvin Wan and rolled out as a joint venture with Bintulu 4x4 Club, the NGO will be visiting Kampung Pantu in Sri Aman to help three longhouses this time around.

Hope Place will be loading up RM45,000 worth of food items on 69 4x4 vehicles participating in this year’s CWB5.

Donated items include rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, noodles, oats and Milo. They will also be bringing towels, second hand clothes and toys.

Coming along for the ride are staff from Bintulu, Sri Aman and Pantu Polyclinics, and a team from Sri Aman Veterinary Office.

Hope Place visits poor and less fortunate families to contribute essential food items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits and noodles.

Many of these families or individuals barely earn enough to get through the month, hence are grateful for these basic necessities.

They also provide milk powder, oats and diapers to families looking after children with special needs, elderly or disabled members.

Hope Place delivers the items once every two months as they cater to more than 180 families.

For more information on how you can help, Hope Place can be reached at 013- 5672775 or 082505987 from 8.30am until noon and 2pm - 5pm from Mondays to Fridays, or from 9am until noon on Saturdays.

Those interested to donate can ask for a receipt from the staff at Hope Place.

The sum to be donated can be directly transferred to ‘Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching’ via Maybank account number 51128900-1160.
