MIRI: Ark Publications will be organising education roadshows throughout Malaysia this month to help students plan their future career.

For Sarawak, the Ark’s Malaysian Education Fair Roadshow 2017 will be held at Merdeka Palace Hotel, Kuching on Dec 9; at Paramount Hotel, Sibu on Dec 10; and at Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri on Dec 12.

Before that, the roadshow will be held in Sabah on Dec 5 at MB Hotel in Tawau; on Dec 6 at Hotel Sandakan in Sandakan and at Promenade Hotel in Kota Kinabalu on Dec 7.

“Students will be able to take a free career test to know their strengths and weaknesses. They will learn what they are interested in and what they need to avoid.

“Once they discover their interests, they will learn to match them to the working environments that best suit them,” said a spokesperson for the event.

A free career talk on ‘ How To Choose A Career’ will be held for students at all venues. Students looking for scholarship and education loans can also attend the talk. The event is also open to teachers, working adults and parents.

“More than half a million students will be leaving school after completing their SPM and STPM by December 2017.

“The career they choose today will determine their lifestyle tomorrow.

“lf they choose to be a teacher today, they will be working in a school, teaching students. They will have to manage about 40 students in the class.

“lf they decide to be a pilot today, they will be flying all over the world. They will spend more time outdoor than with their family.

“That is why we call career planning life planning. You choose the lifestyle you prefer,” added the spokesperson.

Students who have decided on a particular course can get first hand information at the Education Fair on duration of course, tuition fees and entry qualifications can be obtained from participating institutions like SEGi College Sarawak, Perdana University, Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College, Manipal International University, Aimst University, Cyberlynx lnternational College, University Malaysia Computer Science & Technology, DRBHicom University, Laxamana College Brunei, Global School of Technology & Management Singapore, SDH lnstitute Singapore and JL lnstitution Singapore.
