Sarawak Club holds Annual Family Day

KUCHING: The Sarawak Club held their annual Family Day 2017 on Nov 26 to mark the start of the school holiday as a time for members and their families to relax and have fun.

According to a press statement, the club introduced a new Virtual Reality ( VR) games in addition to the various game stalls this year.

As with previous years, the Club’s five adopted charities for the year were on hand to spread awareness and share about their work during Family Day.

Club members donate monthly to the adopted charities and this year’s generous donations from members amounting to RM50,000 were distribute­d to five charities in the community.

The Society for Kuching Urban Poor, Home of Peace, Trinity Hope, Breakthrou­gh Network and Kuching Palliative Associatio­n were each presented RM10,000 by the Club’s deputy president Chua Teck Kheng and members of the management committee.

Sarawak Club also hosted the Chivas Regal Challenge Trophy: 37th Interport Balut Competitio­n 2017 on Nov 18 which attracted a total of 11 clubs from Malaysia and Singapore, with over 150 competitor­s.

The Tournament kicked off with a Welcome Dinner on Nov 17 while the tournament proper and closing party were held on Nov 18.

The Chivas Regal Challenge Trophy went to the team from the Singapore Recreation Club, led by their team manager Yvonne Pereira.

It was a clean sweep for The Singapore Recreation Club who also took home the Individual High Score trophy won by Tan Yock Lian, and the Partnershi­p High Score won by Tan Yock Lian and Jessie Kwek.

As 2017 draw to a close, The Sarawak Club has a special menu for New Year’s Eve dinner at Hornbill Chinese restaurant for RM788 per table, as well as fine- dining set menu in Rajah Room for RM98 per pax.

Dinner will be followed by a countdown party in Badger Bar with special promotion on drinks for members and their guests while they enjoy live entertainm­ent by a big band.

Sarawak Club welcomes all members and their guests to these year- end festivitie­s specially organised for them.
