Douglas, together with two officers and four members, had a working visit to the village to monitor security matters and to mingle with the villagers.

“The villagers were friendly and its Village Head Justine told us that the village was always peaceful and its residents always cooperated with each other. According to Justine, most of the villagers are fishermen,” he said.

Douglas said the visit was aimed at enhancing cooperation between the leaders of the Kudat district police headquarters and the villagers.

It was also to look at the coastal village security situation and to get information on security including crime and drugs, he said.

“Such visits also enhance the public’s confidence on the ongoing efforts of the Royal Malaysian Police in maintaining the security of the district,” he said.

According to him, the visit went well and the villagers were very happy with their presence at the village.
