‘AMUK’ rocks fans at 7th Sibu Bike Week
SIBU: It was a rockin’ night at the 7th Sibu Bike Week 2017 on Saturday when renown Malaysian rock band ‘AMUK’ rocked the stage till midnight with their explosive high- octane live performances.
AMUK fans and rock enthusiasts jumped to their feet and screamed their hearts out loud as the band’s singer Bandi belted out their favourite rock songs.
Wearing masks, the band has become an icon of metal rock music with a unique identity that reaches out to everyone.
Although the music industry has categorised AMUK as an aggressive band, their songs and lyrics are injected with Malay elements and traditional sounds with positive jibes.
Established in 1997, AMUK is also known as ‘ Band Without Faces’ as its members put on masks.
Earlier on, the ‘ 7th Sibu Bike Week 2017’ was officiated by Second Minister of Finance Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, who is also Minister of International Trade and E-Commerce.
Taking place at Sibu Town Square Phase 2, the 7th Sibu Bike Week 2017 was held from Dec 8 to yesterday.
The annual event aims to promote the sport of motorcycle and car as a hobby besides creating camaraderie among bikers in this region and internationally.
Among the event’s programmes were car exhibition, band competition, scooter competition, skateboard and BMX competition, Mr FIT and Battle of the Bands competition.
Other events included the all- bikes competition/games, slow ride competition, tattoo competition and Miss Sibu Bike Week.
