Pustaka Sarawak hosts knowledge camp for 70 students
KUCHING: A total of 70 students aged between 13 to 15 years participated in the 16th Knowledge Camp 2017 organised by the Sarawak State Library in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Department recently.
Participants were encouraged to try something new in an exciting and challenging environment as well as being exposed to activities that lead to the development of informationsearching skills and excellence learning.
This year’s programme included Information Literacy session, Do- It-Yourself ( DIY), Information Hunt, ‘ Moral & Positive Value’ talk, telematch and zumba. Participants also had the opportunity to explore the world of fire fighters through ‘ The Story of Firefigher’ session, introduction to fire safety, practical training on ‘ Kawad Kering’ using Scania Fire Rescue Tender ( FRT) and ‘Save Me From Danger ‘ session.
During the last day of the Knowledge Camp programme, participants showcased their talents by performing during the ‘Show Your Talent’ session.
The programme’s objectives are to nurture the minds and personality of the participants through a vibrant learning environment besides applying good values through cooperation and responsibility in carrying out daily activities, as well as to promote the Sarawak State Library as a knowledge centre as well as to improve the library’s collection and services.
