KUCHING: Naim Foundation, the charitable arm of Naim Group of Companies – one of Malaysia’s leading property developers and contractors – presented academic excellence awards to high performing students from four schools in Sibu recently.

The schools are Catholic High School, Wong Nai Siong Secondary School, Kian Hin Middle School and Guong Ming Middle School.

Naim’s head of corporate communications Caroline Yeo explained the awards were part of the foundation’s annual academic excellence award programme for secondary schools in Sarawak.

“At Naim, we are driven by a passion to make a difference in people’s lives, in line with our philosophy of building value in every way for our communities. Besides motivating students, these awards are our way of highlighting the importance of having an attitude to strive for excellence, be it in schools or later on in their careers.

“Kudos toallwhohave succeeded. To those who did not do as well, do not be disheartened and try to do better. Efforts count as much as the results. All the best to all,” said Yeo in a press release.

Launched in 2016, the Naim Foundation Academic Excellence Award is part of the foundation’s community outreach programme which aimed, among others, to promote academic excellence among students.

A total of 17 secondary schools in Sarawak are currently under the programme.
