Mohd Mokhtar heads list of police gallantry award recipients

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman Special Branch director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff heads the list of 601 recipients of the Most Gallant Police Order and Police Gallantry Medal conferred by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.

He was awarded the Darjah Panglima Gagah Pasukan Polis ( PGPP).

Other PGPP recipients were Bukit Aman Management director Datuk Seri Abdul Ghafar Rajab, Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Tajudin Md Isa and Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department director Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Hanafi.

The PGPP was also conferred on Bukit Aman Criminal Investigat­ion Department director Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd and Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigat­ion Department director Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh.

Sultan Muhammad V also presented the PGPP to four foreign recipients – Chief of Indonesian National Police General Prof Muhamad Tito Karnavian, Commission­er Police of Singapore Police Force Hoong Wee Teck, Commission­er General of Royal Thai Police General Chakthip Chaijinda and Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Transport Republic of Singapore Loh Ngai Seng.

Also present at the investitur­e ceremony held at Istana Negara here were Home Deputy Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, Inspector- General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun and his deputy, Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim.

There are 98 recipients of the Darjah Panglima Setia Pasukan Polis, Darjah Pahlawan Pasukan Polis (173 recipients), Darjah Kesatria Pasukan Polis (40 recipients) and Darjah Bentara Pasukan Polis ( 280 recipients). — Bernama
