MIRI: The Special Affairs Department (Jasa) Miri Division through its Warga Ceria Programme has brought season greetings to the Christian community here with house to house carolling.

Head of Jasa Miri Division Lukanisman Awang Sauni said the carolling group not only visited Christian families but also the less fortunate at charity homes.

“Apart from Miri, similar programmes are being held in the parliamentary constituency of Baram and Sibuti.

“We have people to coordinate the programme at the respective constituencies. A big thanks to the local nongovernmental organisations ( NGOs) and churches for helping us to make the event a success,” he said in an interview during Christmas Carolling at Home for The Aged in Krokop yesterday.

Lukanisman said the main objective of the programme was to further enhance the existing racial unity and religious harmony in the state.

“In the past, we normally organised Christmas celebration in a community hall. This year, we changed the celebration concept by holding the event at the homes
