GE14: PDP strives to retain Mas Gading, assures party’s sec-gen

-

BAU: Progressive Democratic Party ( PDP) is all ready to defend its traditional seat Mas Gading in the 14th general election ( GE14) scheduled for next year.

The party’s secretary- general Datuk Anthony Nogeh Gumbek, who is the incumbent MP, said victory could be achieved through strong cooperation with fellow Barisan Nasional ( BN) components.

“The GE14 is coming, and I wish to reiterate here that Mas Gading is our ( PDP’s) seat.

“God-willing, we will win again in Mas Gading with cooperation from all,” he said at PDP Tasik Biru pre- Christmas gathering in Singai Sports and Recreation Club hall in Kampung Sudoh near here yesterday.

Nogeh also attributed his good working relationship with Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep, as the strong contributing factor to the current BN unity and strength in Mas Gading.

He said that both he and Henry ‘complement each other’, in that they are always in communication to solve issues affecting the constituency.

He also described Henry, who is also PDP supreme council member, as a ‘young, handsome and hardworking YB (elected representative)’ who would have a long future in politics.

“We are always together like what you see today. And you can also see today the presence of (members of) other BN components, which shows the strong cooperation among us,” said Nogeh, who is also Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agrobased Industries.

Meanwhile, Henry said there would be no person other than Nogeh to be the BN candidate for Mas Gading in GE14.

He said he had been enjoying good working relationship with Nogeh, who is ‘ his boss in the party’, for the greater benefit of the people in both Tasik Biru and Mas Gading.

“In his four years as MP and deputy minister, he has brought a lot of development to our area. In GE14, let us all work together to ensure victory for our candidate ( Nogeh),” he said.

Nogeh also presented RM127,000 worth of minor rural project ( MRP) grants to 15 associations, clubs and houses of worship in Singai area.

On Saturday, Nogeh handed over RM278,000 and RM676,000 in MRP grants in Bah and Lundu, respectively.
