‘6 AIM branches in southern zone have cumulative financing value of over RM69.49 mln’

KUCHING: The southern zone of Sarawak has six Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) branches with cumulative financing value of over RM69.49 million.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, who pointed this out yesterday, said the six branches had a total of 15,506 active borrowers.

“The six branches are Kuching, Kuching 2, Kota Samarahan, Bandar Bau, Serian and Sri Aman, and the financing pay back rate is 98.87 per cent,” she said during the Ikhtiar Entrepreneurs Programme at Damai Central in Santubong, near here yesterday.

Some 1,000 individuals, including parents and children, joined the one- day programme organised by the AIM Kuching branch.

Rohani took the opportunity to urge all borrowers not to give in to jealousy when it concerned welfare benefits.

She noted that three clubs; namely Santubong Ikhtiar Entrepreneurs Club, Kuching Ikhtiar Entrepreneurs Club and Ikhtiar Entrepreneurs Club were under the AIM Sarawak southern zone.

She believed that these clubs would be lining up more programmes for their benefits in the near future while their leadership would uphold integrity in fulfilling their obligation.

“I also want to thank patrons of these clubs who are more than willing to be supportive of borrowers so as to make their clubs a success,” she said.

She added that more similar events could be organised in the future if all the parties concerned collaborated with one another.
