Sibu kicks start campaign on community security
SIBU: Community security and crime prevention campaigns will heighten awareness of the importance of security in neighbourhoods, according to Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) deputy chairperson Rogayah Jamain.
Besides that, the campaigns could also consolidate racial unity and solidarity, she said.
“The people ought to be aware of the grave consequences of violent crimes,” she said when addressing participants of the Sibu Division Community Security and Crime Prevention campaign organised by the National Unity and Integration Department (NUID) Sibu Division at SK Abang Ali here recently.
“The approach of this campaign is appropriate in facing the challenges of current crime issues.
“This is not the time we debate to fi nd the fault of any party or point fi ngers. Rather, this is the time we call for concerted efforts to ensure security in our neighbourhood,”
