SUPP assists in applicatio­n for BR1M programme

SARIKEI: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party ( SUPP) Sarikei branch is doing its bit to help eligible locals apply for cash aid under the 1Malaysia People’s Assistance (BR1M) 2018.

SUPP Sarikei branch Youth chief Andrew Wong Pak Ung said those in need of their service were welcome to visit its branch office here during office hours on working days.

On certain weekends or public holidays, the party’s youth and women sections would open service counters at strategic areas in the town to provide similar service, he said, adding last Sunday they set up the service counter at Honey Restaurant here.

Wong, who is also Sarikei Civic Centre manager, advised new applicants to bring along identifica­tion documents such as their MyKad and birth certificat­e as well as those of their dependents.

They are also required to furnish their bank account numbers.

Those eligible to apply for the cash aid are individual­s aged 21 years and above who earn monthly incomes of RM2,000 and below; families with monthly household incomes of RM3,001 to RM4,000 and families with monthly household incomes of RM3,000 and below.

Those eligible under individual category would receive a one- off payment of RM450 in February 2018; families with monthly household income of RM3001 to RM4,000 would receive RM900 to be paid in three installmen­ts of RM300 each; and families with monthly household income of RM3,000 and below would receive RM1,200 to be paid in three installmen­ts of RM400 each in February, June and August next year.

Also present were SUPP Sarikei branch Women chief Wong Zee Yeng and other Youth Section committee members.
