Change mindset, be ready for changes, PBB Katibas members reminded

-

KAPIT: The political strength held by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) has helped the party to move forward, but its members are also reminded to change their mindset and be ready to embrace changes.

In this regard, Katibas assemblyman Datuk Ambrose Blikau Enturan observes that in this modern era, PBB members are facing new challenges.

He adds that everybody must be receptive to changes; otherwise, they would be left behind.

“The only way for us to move forward is through education. Hence, we need to give focus on our children’s education as knowledge is our asset,” he said in his address at PBB Katibas’ triennial delegates meeting ( TDM) held in Song Community Hall recently.

Blikau, who was unanimously elected as chairman of PBB Katibas at the meeting, also reminded fellow members never to speak ill of one another.

“Don’t be a troublemaker in the party; we need to support one another and work together as a team to strengthen the party further,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, three resolutions were passed at the TDM – the call for no- contest for the PBB president and deputy president’s posts, as well as the rallying of support for incumbent Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is the federal Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, to be re-nominated as the Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate for the constituency in the next parliamentary election.

Additionally, the TDM also announced the election of Councillor Rose Demon Simpang as Katibas PBB Women’s chief for the 2017-2019 term, while Councillor Zully Ambrose Blikau became the new Katibas PBB Youth chief replacing Handry Ann Salang, who had opted not to contest this time.

Later Blikau, who came to the event with his wife Datin Marie Therese Malthias, thanked all 400 PBB members for attending the TDM, which was held in compliance with the party’s constitution.

He called upon party members to be loyal and united in rallying support for PBB – the BN backbone party in Sarawak. The TDM also served to select members from Katibas’ main branch to attend the PBB Convention, set to take place at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching in due course.
