Secretive Enrique Iglesias, Kournikova welcome twins
MIAMI: After keeping it a secret, singer Enrique Iglesias and former tennis star Anna Kournikova have surprised fans by announcing they have just welcomed twins.
Iglesias, 42, and Kournikova, 36, have welcomed Nicholas and Lucy, who were born at the weekend in Miami, according to TMZ.
Kournikova had posted three photos on Instagram, featuring herself on a boat with the tag ‘no fi lter needed’. Her fi gure was swamped by an Iglesias jacket from his recent tour.
They had started dating in 2001 after meeting on the set of the Spanish singer’s Escape music video. But they were not thought to be married.
Neither had revealed much about their relationship. Moreover, they had not been seen together in public for nearly a year.
Last year, Kournikova sparked marriage speculations when she began sporting a large diamond ring and matching eternity band on her wedding fi nger.
However in an interview this summer, Iglesias revealed that despite the length of time they’ve been together, he and Moscow-born beauty Kournikova have no immediate plans to get married.
But he claimed they were already living the life of a married couple.
He told The Sun newspaper: ‘We’re just as happy.
‘ There comes a point when you’ve been with someone for a certain amount of time that I believe that you are like, married. I guess the only difference is that we haven’t walked down the aisle.’ In 2011, Iglesias raised eyebrows when he introduced Anna as his wife during a concert in Russia in 2011. In an interview with People Espanol in 2007, Iglesias said of Kournikova, “I think she’d be the perfect mother, and I say it regardless of whether I’d be with her or not.”
