KUCHING: Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office, Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali has proposed that Fiesta Samariang be organised on a larger scale in the future.

Hasidah who is also Samariang assemblywoman was speaking during the launch of Fiesta Samariang 2017 at the Multipurpose Hall of Kampung Malaysia Jaya yesterday.

The Fiesta organised by Kuching City North Commission (DBKU)’s Friendly Neighbourhood involved five villages in Samariang area.

She said that it is worthwhile to get more people in the community involved as it has become a platform to run their activities.

“This is why I support this programme and urge organisers to make it bigger the next time. I want to see more involvement from other NGOs and individuals who are interested in helping out,” she said.

There were many exciting activities held during the Fiesta, including promotions for products and services, a ‘gendang Melayu’ competition, sporting events and more. Hasidah urged Samariang residents to give full support to the Barisan Nasional (BN) government in the upcoming election, pointing out that many development projects have been completed or are in progress in Samariang constituency.

Also present was organising chairman Zamahari Saidi.
