Terabai Ilang members donate to poor family

-

MIRI: Members of a Dayakbased non-governmental organisation (NGO) Terabai Ilang visited the house of a poor family in Tudan recently, in conjunction with the coming Christmas celebration.

The team headed by its president Jeremiah Useh visited Richard Dular and his family and presented them with some gifts and donation.

“We wanted to share the spirit and joy of the festive season with Richard and his family. We also gave the family some drinks and food to share during the coming Christmas celebration.

“Though this is just a simple gesture, it is one of our ways to show that they are remembered during this festive season. I would also like to thank all those including NGOs that had helped us repair Richard’s house before this. Now they have a more comfortable house to stay in,” he said.

Several months ago, Terabai Ilang with help from several NGOs and generous individuals had repaired Richard’s dilapidated house.

“I hope more people or agencies can come forward and donate to Richard’s family in the future, As concerned members of the Dayak community, Terabai Ilang wants to help in ways we can. It may not be much but we hope it can help ease the family’s burden,” said Jeremiah.

Richard, who works as a labourer has six children aged between eight to 15 years old.
