Over RM12,000 worth of valuables missing after housebreak

LIMBANG: A house owner in Limbang got the shock of his life when he discovered that RM 12,140 worth of valuables from his house went missing on Thursday night.

The victim from Taman Poyan Jaya lodged a police report of the theft at noon yesterday after going through the list of items stolen in the burglary believed to have occurred at about midnight.

Limbang OCPD Supt Mohd Bokhori Saf fai confirmed the report being lodged, and said the items reported stolen included a branded watch, helmet, clothings and makeup items.

Investigat­ing officers are currently on the trail of a suspect in the case which has been classified as theft by housebreak­ing under Section 457 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Lim bang Narcotics Crimes Investigat­ion Department ( NCID) arrested a local unemployed male suspect on suspicion of drug abuse yesterday afternoon.

He had tested positive for methamphet­amine in a urine test.

Mohd Bukhori said the suspect fro mK ampung Limpasong was picked up and a urine test conducted at the NCID office.

He has been detained for a period of 24 hours to complete investigat­ion into the case under Section 15 (1) ( a) of Dangerous Drug Act 1952 which carries a fine of not more than RM5,000 or imprisonme­nt not exceeding two years, upon conviction.
