Auspicious offerings by Joy I Palace for CNY reunion dinner

KUCHING: New Year Eve’s reunion dinner is of utmost importance to those celebratin­g Chinese New Year, when auspicious dishes are served, some only once-a-year for their symbolic meanings.

Joy I Palace offers exquisite dishes specially for this year’s reunion dinner on February 15 with the choice of two dinner packages with service for 10 persons.

The menu for RM598 package consists of salmon ‘yee sang’, hot and cold three combinatio­n platter, ‘Jin Qian’ shark fin in chicken soup, sweet and sour red snapper, braised pork leg, fried prawn in special sauce, special lotus leaf fried rice and dessert.

Special dishes for the 10- course dinner priced at RM1,498, will be special abalone slice ‘yee sang’, hot and cold five combinatio­n platter, abalone shark fin soup, steamed fish, abalone mushroom with vegetables, fried prawn in special sauce, lotus leaf steamed pork leg, parsley grilled chicken, special abalone fried rice and dessert.

Both dinner packages will come with free flow of Chinese tea and soft drinks. Dinner will be served at 7.18pm sharp. Payment must be made in full upon reservatio­n.

For those who prefer to have their reunion dinners at home, Joy I Palace has a takeaway menu from 11am to 3pm on February 15.

Dishes include Joy-I salmon fish ‘yee sang’, roasted duck, crispy roasted chicken, mixed vegetables with abalone slices, ‘fatt choy’ and mushroom pork leg, sweet and sour grouper, Thai style seabass, special fried prawn, ‘Buddha’s delight’, mixed vegetables.

The restaurant is having an on-going abalone meal packages for six to 10 persons until further notice. Advance reservatio­n is required.

The RM498 package with service for 10 consists of ‘hot and cold three combinatio­n’, ‘fish lip thick soup, special abalone with fish maw, sweet and sour Tilapia, pepper-salt-onion prawns and rainbow mixed vegetables.

As for the RM599 package also for 10, the menu includes hot and cold three combinatio­n platter, shark fin thick soup, special abalone with abalone slice, braised pork leg with mushroom, Thai style seabass, onion prawn, spicy roasted chicken, snow peas and celery with lotus root.

Service for 10 at RM899 consists of hot and cold four combinatio­n platter, braised shark fin thick soup, special abalone with abalone slice, ‘Thai special pork leg, abalone sauce braised star grouper, onion sweet and sour prawn, fresh mushroom with fish maw, and Joy I special abalone with rice.

All meal packages come with desserts, free flow of Chinese tea as well as soft drinks. Joy 1 Palace is located at Lot 346-351, Sublot 2-7, Section 54, KTLD Petanak Road.
