-

KUALA KANGSAR: Felcra Berhad (Felcra) will build 100 houses for residents in the Kuala Kangsar district, especially for low-income households (B40) next year.

Felcra Bhd Perak Region general manager Hassan Khamis said home design plans were underway and the project was expected to commence by March 2018.

He said when completed, each unit of the three-room house would be sold for RM75,000.

“So far Felcra has built 1,000 houses in Seberang Perak and 100 houses in Lekir and Perak Tengah respectively,” he told reporters after launching the Back To School Programme at Felcra Berhad’s Kledang Sayong grounds here, yesterday.

Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament’s special officer, Ahmad Suffian Ismail officiated the launching ceremony.

On the Back to School programme, Hassan said Felcra allocated RM6.3 million to be channelled to 18,000 students as its corporate social responsibility in helping alleviate the burden of parents preparing for their children’s early schooling.

He said 300 of the students were in Kuala Kangsar and they received schoolbags, uniforms, shoes, socks and stationery worth RM300 each, yesterday.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Sufian said the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary constituency had extended school aid to 1,300 primary and 500 secondary school students. — Bernama
