EduCity paints town red hot with its Christmas Dance
KUCHING: Most of the world may be dreaming of a white Christmas but EduCity in Iskandar Puteri, Johor painted the town red hot with its Red and Spicy EduCity Christmas Dance 2017.
Held at the Indoor Arena of the EduCity Sports Complex on Dec 13, 2017, the mega event saw students, staff and partners from various educational institutes in EduCity gather to celebrate the festive season.
Partygoers decked out in glamorous attire danced the night away while enjoying an exciting line-up of fun-filled activities.
Among others, those present were treated to a scrumptious spread of food, entertaining vocal and dance performances by students, and exciting games such as Balloon Wars, Freeze Dance and Limbo Dance.
There was also a series of six lucky draws held throughout the night with nearly RM10,000 worth of prizes given out, including an iPad, PS4 and TV in the Grand Lucky Draw.
Contests were held for Best Performance and Best Dressed Person.
According to EduCity’s vicepresident of Student Affairs, Dr Cheryl Chan, the event was an avenue for everybody in EduCity – from students to staff to partners – to mingle and bond as the year closed.
“While it is true that EduCity was conceived to be a first- of-its-kind education hub that brings together the world’s best at one venue, we want to show that it is much more than top-of-the-range academics.
“The event serves to unite various entities of EduCity outside work and foster relationships among the people here. It’s a breakaway from classes and the office, an occasion for everyone to have fun!” she said.
Opened in 2014, EduCity is unique in that it houses an array of top global universities and other educational institutions, each offering its best programme; and is served by a range of accommodation and recreational facilities including the massive EduCity Sports Complex that features an Olympic- sized swimming pool, football field and gymnasium.
“EduCity is like a gathering of the greats. It’s essentially the best of the best!” Chan said.
