Calling footballer­s aged 7 to 12 for NFDP talent search

KUCHING: Students aged between seven to 12 are invited to attend the National Football Developmen­t Programme( NFDP) talent scouting sessions in Sarawak which will take place in Kota Samarahan, Kuching, Bintulu and Miri.

NFDP’s mission is to unearth a pool of talented young players and to build a capable national team to qualify for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2019.

The programme is a collaborat­ion between Football Associatio­n of Malaysia (FAM), National Sports Council (NSC), Youth and Sports Ministry and Education Ministry.

The first session will be at Padang B, Institut Pendidikan Guru Tun Abdul Razak, Kota Samarahan on Jan 6 ( Sat). Registrati­on for those aged seven to 10 will be at 7.30am and those 11 to 12 at 2.30pm.

The session in Kuching will be next on Jan 7 ( Sun) at SK Bandar Baru Samariang, Jalan Sultan Tengah. Registrati­on time for seven to 10 years old will be at 7.30am while registrati­on for 11 to 12 years old will be at 2.30pm.

The programme moves to Bintulu on Jan 13 ( Sat) at Padang Bola Turf, Dewan Suarah Bintulu. Those aged 7 to 10 are to register at 7am and those 11 to 12 at 8am.

The final session will be at SK Merbau, Miri on Jan 14 (Sun) with registrati­on of those 7 to 10 years old at 7am and those 11 to 12 at 8am.

All students must be accompanie­d by their parents and bring their My Kid identifica­tion card or birth certificat­e and a passport-size photograph. Registrati­on is free.
