Govt supportive of activities meant to unite people – Rep

-

SRI AMAN: The government is all welcoming of programmes run by any of its government departments aimed at getting closer to the people, says Lingga assemblywoman Simoi Peri.

However, she said to reach this target, all parties must be involved directly in these community activities.

“Awareness in all parties is needed to realise this goal so that the peace and unity we are enjoying now would never end,” she spoke at the closing of ‘GP Joran Programme’ hosted by Kampung Lingga Fishing Club in Lingga multipurpose hall here recently.

Simoi also reminded the people to be grateful that despite coming from various backgrounds, everybody could live together in harmony and able to co- operate with one another.

“We must ensure what we have now would not crumble in the face of adversity. Instead, all challenges should make us more united as we face it together as one.”

Simoi regarded that such unity and cooperation were key contributors to the nation’s development and stability, which in turn serve as key factors in realising high economic growth.

The assemblywoman also called upon the people to give strong support to the Barisan Nasional ( BN) leadership so that the people could continue enjoying peace and development, especially through the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and Economic Transformation Programme ( ETP).

On the fishing event, Simoi praised the club for hosting the event, which created more activities for the local youths.

“I fully support this type of activity, and I hope it could be held again in the future.”

We must ensure what we have now would not crumble in the face of adversity. Instead, all challenges should make us more united as we face it together as one. Simoi Peri, Lingga assemblywoman
