Largest aquarium with products, services opens

BINTULU: Aqua Marine Aquapet, the largest marine and fresh water aquarium in Bintulu officially opens for business today (Jan 6).

Located at No 1, Wisma PRC, Jalan Tun Razak, Tanjung Batu, it opens from 10am to 10pm daily.

According to owner Pangeran Daud Awang Putera, they specialise in marine design and setup, live culture coral, marine fish, aquarium maintenanc­e, fresh water system, pond system, water cooling system, water plants and the supply of aquarium accessorie­s.

“Basically we are offering the locals the opportunit­y to see the largest aquamarine life in Bintulu without having to travel to the Peninsular or other countries. We hope to attract visitors from outside too.

“We also aim to inculcate the need for theprotect­ion, preservati­on, and increase awareness on how throwing rubbish into the river or ocean affects marine life,” he added.

“Preserving the environmen­t especially marine life for the future generation­s is important as over two-thirds of the earth’s surface is covered by water,” said Daud.

“Everyone loves to have these seawater products, but taking care and maintainin­g can be frustratin­g for some.That’s where we can help with our services,” he added.

The grand opening ceremony yesterday was officiated by Bintulu Developmen­t Authority ( BDA) general manager Rodziah Morshidi.

She said this new type of business can be further explored because it is very much related to the environmen­t and the importance of protecting marine life.
