Father relieved daughter finally gets her birth certificate
SARIKEI: The father of a 17year- old girl is relieved that his daughter has finally obtained her birth certificate which confirms she is a Malaysian citizen.
Stephen Mangai, accompanied by a political secretary to chief minister Teng Ung Woo, received the document from officer in charge of National Registration Department here, Ali Hassan, when they called on him at his office yesterday.
Teng said he had helped Stephen apply for the document, and was glad it was successful.
“With the document, Stephen’s daughter Roslin Minah will be able to apply for a MyKad which she needs to sit for her SPM examination end of this year,” Teng said.
Rolsin, a Form 5 student, has encountered problem before as it was indicated in her former identity document that her nationality was Indonesian, Teng said.
Stephen thanked all those who have helped her daughter obtain her citizenship, giving special mention to Repok assemblyman Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii, Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, Teng and several other community leaders.
