Police nab alleged drug dealer

KUCHING: Police arrested a man suspected of distributi­ng drugs here on Friday, seizing a variety of drugs, cash, and a car.

The seized drugs included Ecstacy worth RM4,200, ketamine worth RM2,000, Erimin 5 worth RM180 a small quantity of cannabis.

State Narcotics Crime Investigat­ion Department (NCID) chief Supt Sahar Abdul Latif said the 29-year- old suspect was apprehende­d in a car at Jalan Kapor at around 7.30pm.

“Following checks, police found four packets of an Ecstasypow­dered juice concoction hidden near the brake paddle of the car,” he said in a statement.

The suspect then led police to his rented house at Jalan Lapangan Terbang later the same night where a brown box containing Ecstacy, ketamine, Erimin 5 pills and cannabis was found.

hybrid car worth RM80,000 and cash amounting to RM1,401.

“The suspect has confessed to distributi­ng the drugs at entertainm­ent outlets in the town area, saying he obtained the drugs by depositing cash into his supplier’s bank account before collecting the substance at a preagreed drop- off point,” said Sahar, adding the suspect had been active for the past one year.

The suspect, who tested negative for drugs, had no previous criminal record.

The case is being investigat­ed under Section 39A and 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Section 6 and 12( 2) of the same Act.
