Dr M as prime minister tastes like ‘bitter tea’, says Soo

-

KUCHING: State Reform Party ( Star) president Lina Soo has likened Pakatan Harapan ( PH) Sarawak’s support of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to lead the country as prime minister should they win the 14th General Election, much like the taste of ‘ bitter tea that tastes the same despite changing the teapot’.

She said with the coalition’s endorsement of the former premier, the voters were now being asked to choose between Umno and ex- Umno.

“They’re just changing the teapot but we are getting the same bitter tea.

“Is this justice and democracy?” she questioned when contacted yesterday.

Soo pointed out that Dr Mahathir had 22 years to deliver prosperity and justice to Sarawak and Sabah.

“Instead, he made us into the two poorest states of Malaysia.”

Describing Barisan Nasional ( BN) and PH as a two- party system, she said both coalition do not have the capability to restore the rights of Sarawak and Sabah under the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“Only Star can do this. Only Star can protect and defend Sarawak and Sabah and return our rights and pride,” she claimed.

PH Sarawak recently announced their endorsement of Dr Mahathir during a press conference where its chairman Chong Chieng Jen had said that there was no better person than Tun Mahathir to topple Umno.
