Finalists for 2018 Miss Cultural Harvest Festival selected
KUCHING: A total of 15 beauties were selected as finalists for the 2018 Miss Cultural Harvest Festival at The Club, Riverside Majestic Hotel here on Saturday.
The 15 finalists were selected based on their physical appearance, personality and talent, out of 30 beauties who attended the selection.
According to the organiser, the final of the competition will take place on April 27 at Sarawak Cultural Village in conjunction with the Sarawak Harvest Festival, which was previously known as the World Harvest Festival.
Speaking to reporters after the selection, festival director Zaini Zainuddin said the theme for this year is based on the culture of the Iban community.
He also promised that this year’s festival will be different. “This year marks the 20th year of this festival, which is why we have to do something different. We also want the finalists of the Miss Cultural Harvest Festival to be better than previous years.”
He said that it is important for the finalists of the Miss Cultural Harvest Festival to bring Sarawak’s beauty to the world, adding that many contestants have gone on to launch successful careers or succeeded in national beauty contests.
Meanwhile, the winner of the last year’s Miss Cultural Harvest Festival ( 2017) Shastaclaire Drickerson hopes that all finalists can take on the commitment of being contestants.
