KUCHING: ECS ICT Bhd ( ECS) yesterday unveiled four new product offerings from THUNDEROBOT, one of the leaders in the sale of gaming computers and accessories in Asia.

THUNDEROBOT produces state of the art of gaming computers and four of its computer models, namely DINO, 911 GT, ST Plus and 911 SE, will be distributed by ECS ASTAR Sdn Bhd, a wholly- owned subsidiary of ECS, which has been appointed as the sole distributor for THUNDEROBOT notebooks and accessories in Malaysia.

“We are honoured to be the first country in SouthEast Asia to offer THUNDEROBOT computers, bringing the ultimate gaming experience to our local consumer market. The formation of this new partnership with THUNDEROBOT is a testament to the Group’s recognised reputation as the leading ICT distributor in Malaysia,” ECS chief executive officer Soong Jan Hsung shared at the launch event yesterday.

Within its ICT distribution portfolio, ECS already offers several gaming computer models from established brand names, which have been well-received by local customers. The addition of THUNDEROBOT will enlarge ECS’ product offerings to increase the group’s revenue for 2018. THUNDEROBOT computers will be available at authorised ECS retailers nationwide in Malaysia as well as the online branded stores on popular e- commerce websites.

“SouthEast Asia is the fastest growing region for the e- Sports scene at a Compound Annual Growth Rate ( CAGR) of 36.1 per cent between 2015-2019, reaching 19.8 million of e- Sports enthusiasts.

“Tapping on the lucrative world of digital gaming, Malaysia has plans to host the Malaysia Cyber Games 2018 as well as prep for the 2022 Asian Games to boost the presence of e- Sports in the country.

“Hence, ECS Malaysia, being the first in SouthEast Asia to offer THUNDEROBOT computers, will be able to ride along the e- Sports wave.

“On another note, we believe that these computers not only cater for the gaming crowd, but serves as graphic workstations for architectural and design professions, given its ability for heavy duty performance,” Soong added.
