DBKU Agenda to have miniUTC with over 40 counters

KUCHING: The Kuching City North Commission ( DBKU) Agenda returns bigger this year, promising an event catering to people from all walks of life.

According to DBKU commission­er Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Julai , DBKU Agenda 2018 event will be held from Jan 26 to 28 at the Kuching Waterfront.

He pointed out that as a programme aimed at empowering Kuching North residents, there will be a mini Urban Transforma­tion Centre ( UTC) featuring over 40 counters of government department­s and agencies.

Among the agencies participat­ing in the Mini UTC are Inland Revenue Board, National Registrati­on Department, Sarawak Economic Developmen­t Department (SEDC) and TM Point.

“We will also be having a digital expo, f lea market, games pavilion, light and laser show which will light up the waterfront area and the Millenia Concert featuring artistes such as Joe Wings, Aweera and Prime Domestic,” said Abang Abdul Wahap.

He added that the event will also feature ‘Ceramah Perdana’ with Dato Mohd Kazim Elias, Jom Berekot 2.0 and Agenda Amazing Race for those who are into running.

Meanwhile, the whole stretch of Main Bazaar road will be closed throughout the event, and the public is advised to use the Tun Abang Haji Openg road as an alternativ­e exit from Gambier road.

The event yesterday also saw a signing ceremony between DBKU and Sacofa Sdn Bhd, which wi l l see the company providing on-location free high speed internet throughout the three- day event.
