Chinese New Year marble furniture exhibition at One TJ
KUCHING: Zenyie Furniture is having a Chinese New Year exhibition at One TJ- ICT Shopping Complex at Stutong from Jan 19 to Feb 13.
Homeowners and marble furniture enthusiasts can fi nd a host of reasonably- priced marble dining sets from RM900 to RM6000, inclusive of home delivery within Kuching.
Its proprietor Ng Kim Hoi disclosed that although the factory increased prices by 10 per cent , he still maintains his price.
Available at the exhibition is the ever popular round dining table with marble top and matching chairs, as well as oval or rectangular dining sets. A huge crystal white marble dining set from Vietnam, with the dining table measuring seven- foot in diameter is also for sale at the exhibition.
Using a torchlight, Ng demonstrated the translucent property of the marble table with light permeating through the slab.
He further explained that what makes a piece of marble furniture unique aside from its natural beauty and classic design is the hardness and reflective quality of the marble slab itself.
For its footing, polished marble slabs are matched with nyatoh wood, which is a hard wood known for its strength and durability. The dining chairs are also made of nyatoh wood.
There are also a variety of dining sets with granite table tops. Although darker in colour, they are considerably much harder than marble; and like marble, granite can last for generations.
For art collectors and enthusiasts, there is a wide selection of oil paintings of landscapes, flowers and animals. Specially brought in for Chinese New Year are auspicious paintings of koi fish, cascading waterfalls, lakes and mountains. For more information call Ng at 019-2746351.
