KUCHING: Sarawak Islamic Information Centre ( PPIS) will launch a mobile application to facilitate users to obtain information on Islam, as well as to know PPIS’ programmes and activities throughout the year.

PPIS chief executive officer Zabariah Matali said with the simple app, users can link directly to the PPIS and PPIS social web sites such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

“This PPIS mobile application, which will be officially introduced next month (in February) is in tandem with the state government’s plan towards digital transformation. At the same time, PPIS also takes the initiative to ensure that PPIS is on sync with the globalisation and digital era.

“Since its inception in 2008, PPIS believes that accurate knowledge and information is fundamental to the formation of a better and more knowledgeable society. All the programmes and activities organised are the centre’s efforts to provide an understanding of Islam to the multiracial and religious community in Sarawak,” she said during press conference on Thursday.

Hence, she pointed out that PPIS would continue to advance and actively provide information, contribute knowledge and understanding of Islam to the entire multiracial society and communities around the world.
