Al-Khafi Innovative, Creative Group champion of ‘Bicara Tuntas Inovasi’

MIRI: The Al-Khafi Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) from Tun Abdul Razak Teachers Training Institute (IPGKTAR) achieved another milestone by emerging champion in the ‘Bicara Tuntas Inovasi’ of Hari Inovasi 2018 (HaI 2018) held at Bahasa Melayu Teachers Training Institute in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The team won for its ‘Eksplorasi Bahasa al-Khafi’ (EBaK) Innovation project shared by one of its members, Muhaimi Suhaili, in the talk session. At the event, KIK – comprising Dr Sara Beden, Dr Radna Wismawati Muhibah, Rokaiyah Jaya, Nordin Seruji, Cynthia Chin, Normah Zen and Muhaimi – also received the ‘Anugerah Khas Rektor’ through the EBaK module.

“The success of EBaK module through the Anugerah Khas Rektor innovated by KIK from IPGKTAR proved the innovation is able to lay a solid foundation in teaching and learning for students from Year 1 to 3 to master the basic skill of reading. The impact, the Literacy and Numeracy Screening (Linus) problem among students can be overcome.

“Indeed, producing high quality innovation product highlights the height of the mind in projecting frameworks and modules relevant to the demands of the education world in the 21st century,” Dr Sara told thesundayp­ost.

Dr Sara added that the group’s success in HaI 2018 was driven by strong support from IPGKTAR director Hamsiah Abdullah Masni.

HaI 2018 was an inaugural programme to enliven the country’s education through innovative teaching and learning.

Themed ‘Inovasi Pendidikan ke Arah Revolusi Industri 4.0’, the event gathered 27 teacher training institutes throughout Malaysia to showcase competitiv­e and innovative education products.

Among the activities organised at HaI 2018 officiated by Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid were ‘Bicara Inovasi’, ‘Bicara Tuntas Inovasi’ and ‘Persembaha­n Inovasi’.

The closing ceremony for HaI 2018 was officiate by DirectorGe­neral of Education Datuk Dr Amin Senin.

“The 2-day event provides an opportunit­y for all educators to share knowledge, discoverie­s, inputs, methods and techniques that are new, fresh and unique in our efforts to boost the performanc­e of the nation’s education system in line with the global demands of 21st century education.

“21st century education prioritise­s achievemen­t to breed generation­s with critical thinking, creative, innovative, good communicat­ion and invention,” said Dr Sara.

Dr Sara said six objectives have been lined up for implementa­tion of HaI 2018.

“Among them are showcasing the best of innovation results; provide a platform for sharing views, expertise and experience; and giving participan­ts the opportunit­y to choose the best and relevant products.

“The 2-day event can certainly prove the achievemen­t of these objectives,” she added.
