Two set menus for CNY at Hotel Grand Continental
KUCHING: The Hotel Grand Continental is offering two set menus for Chinese New Year available for lunch and dinner.
According to Hotel Grand Continental business development manager Evelyn Anek, the set menus offered by the hotel will be available from Feb 2 to March 2.
Two set menus known as Grand Prosperity and Grand Blessing come in two prices for a table of five to six persons, and for a table of 10 persons.
“The Grand Prosperity set is RM888 for a table of 10 persons and RM538 for a table of five to six persons; while the Grand Blessing set is RM688 for a table of 10 persons and RM428 for a table of five to six persons,” she said yesterday.
Prices for the Grand Prosperity and Grand Blessing sets for a table of 10 persons are inclusive of a free bottle of red wine; while red wine is available at a special price for those paying for the Grand Prosperity Set and Grand Blessing Set for a table of five to six persons.
Evelyn said the innovative dishes of the set menus pay homage to the flavours of Chinese New Year and traditional oriental ingredients with auspicious sounding names to ensure a promising year.
“Our Grand Prosperity menu for example includes Salmon Yee Sang, Five Treasure Fish Lip and Dried Scallop Soup, Pak Loh Duck, Steamed Groupa Fish with Minced Ginger and Scallion, Stir Fried Prawns in Pumpkin Butter Sauce and many more. We also have a free flow of soft drinks, Chinese tea and mandarin oranges,” she said.
Apart from that there is free corkage charge for liquor or wine or beer brought in for the celebratory feast. The venue for the Grand Prosperity and Grand Blessing set menus is at the hotel’s Brasseries Coffee House.
Meanwhile Evelyn also mentioned that the Hotel Grand Continental homemade ‘Yee Sang’ is available for sale at RM90 nett per order which is a serving for 10 persons.
All bookings for the Grand Prosperity set, Grand Blessing set and homemade ‘Yee Sang’ need to be done three days in advance.
