KUCHING: Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian has called upon voters in Sarawak to rally behind Barisan Nasional ( BN) come the 14th General Election (GE14).

The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president said they should watch out for any sweet talk by the opposition in view of the approaching election.

According to Dr Sim, BN and Umno will continue to rule the country after the general election.

He claimed that there is even a possibility for Democratic Action Party ( DAP) to work with Umno or BN while terming the DAP as an opportunist political party.

“During the 2013 general election, the DAP attacked Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and called upon the people to support PAS.

“And now, they attack Umno and PAS but sing praises to Dr Mahathir. The DAP has lost its credibility,” he said when attending a function at the Che Hoe Khor Moral Uplifting Society Siburan yesterday.

Dr Sim lauded the society for reaching out to the less fortunate and pledged to allocate government grants to the society to help it carry on its good cause.

He informed that former chief minister the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem had set up a NonIslamic Affairs Department during his term of office which had doled out a total of RM15 million in government grants to various religious bodies last year.

He thus advised the society to apply for such development grant from the department, which is now under the watch of Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
