Recruit more members to stay relevant, PBB Bekenu urged

MIRI: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) Bekenu branch is urged to focus on recruiting more members and voters to ensure the party stays relevant in the state constituen­cy.

Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, who is also PBB Women’s wing deputy chief, said it is one of the responsibi­lities entrusted to the wing as women are good in increasing the number of members and voters being patient and armed with reliable approaches.

“I urge PBB N71 Bekenu to make the recruitmen­t of new members and voters the backbone of the branch and PBB’s strength as a whole. This is a continuous and important task for us,” Fatimah said in her speech at ‘ Program Pemantapan Pemimpin Tunjang

Fatimah congratula­ted PBB Bekenu for being able to arrange its bureaus according to its needs in various fields including politics, economics, social, education, leisure and welfare.

At the event, she launched the Squad Sayang of the Women’s Wing of PBB N71 Bekenu which emphasises helping the poor and needy in the state irrespecti­ve of race and religious background.

“This goes to show that we want to serve and do good. By choosing to do good by all means, especially through charity work, we will be able to reach out to our community, touch people’s hearts and engage their minds,” she added.

Present at the event were Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Rosey Yunus who is also Bekenu assemblywo­man, political secretary to the chief minister Sharkawi Suhaili as well as members of PBB N71 Bekenu youth and women wings.
