Malaysia-China business-matching event to highlight key SME sectors

KUCHING: The Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), and Bank of China (Malaysia) Bhd will jointly host the ‘ MalaysiaCh­ina Small and Medium Enterprise ( SME) Business Matching Conference 2018’ at Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur this Feb 5.

The session, to run from 9.30am to 3pm, will highlight a number of key SME sectors — food and beverage (including halal food), wholesale, building materials, e- commerce, commercial property developmen­t, modern agricultur­e (aquacultur­e, fruits, oil palm, tapioca and animal feed), green energy ( photovolta­ic, liquid natural gas, hydropower station, upstream and downstream industries), recycling and processing of waste materials, automotive parts, machinery and equipment, logistics as well as industrial park developmen­t.

A similar business-matching session was jointly run by ACCCIM and Bank of China in 2015, which was well received by the industry players.

The Malaysia- China SME Business Matching Conference 2018 was initiated by Ambassador Extraordin­ary and Plenipoten­tiary of People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, Bai Tian.

It is supported by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

So far, the organisers have received registrati­ons from over 70 companies from China.
