“It is high time the plant is upgraded and be under Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB),” Nanta said when announcing the approval for the upgrading work on the plant by the department.

Thanking the ministry, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said being an administrative centre, Long Bedian would see an increase in government services, business and other activities which will stimulate change and development in the area.

“The population will also be increased. Currently there are around 304 registered households with a population of around 3,000 and 100 applications for building houses are yet to be approved.”

The poor pipe system with leakages might be the source of the water supply problem faced by the local community.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Water Supply Datuk Liwan Lagang and senior administrative officer Ezra Uda.
