CNY festivities at Bintang Megamall from today
MIRI: Bintang Megamall has lined up a series of programmes for the Chinese New Year festive season beginning today.
According to its event manager Allen Wong, the first event will be the TLD- CNY body workout that will be held today from 3.30pm onwards at the popular shopping mall.
“The weeks prior to the CNY is usually very hectic. Therefore, the event is offering shoppers an opportunity to relax and enjoy the exercise while shopping with us,” he said in a press conference yesterday.
The body workout will be showcasing Jump Fit, Kids Dance Perform, Hot Dance Perform, Fitness Workout, Reggae, Cardio and Yoga.
This evening, AI fm’s Dj Liang Jin Long will be making an appearance to promote his Chinese New Year album from 7.30pm.
Tomorrow, a CNY Calligraphy charity sale organised by Miri Chinese Calligraphy and Cultural Society will be held from 11am onwards, followed by Children CNY Singing competition from 12.30pm.
At the same event, Miri Life Care Society will be launching their first charity van service in an effort to provide free transportation to those in need.
Thereafter, there will be a Lion Dance competition organised by Miri Wushu Association from 3pm at the mall’s main entrance.
On Feb 2, Bintang Megamall and Miri fm will jointly hold a ‘Pentas Chinese New Year 2018’.
The event will showcase a variety of stage performances as well as a special guest appearance by Malaysia’s popular mando-pop singer NiNi who will be here to promote her CNY album.
On Feb 3, students of T Home Music Academy will hold a CNY performance from 1.30pm at the shopping mall.
On Feb 8, Grand Miri beauty pageant will be holding a talent night where shoppers can get a glimpse of the beauty contestants.
From Feb 10 to 11, lovers of Indian culture from food, beverages and souvenirs, can visit the Indian Bazaar.
There will also be a Miri Cardboard City Exhibition and contest from Feb 10 to 19.
Wong said shoppers who want to avoid the traffic congestion can opt for e-taxi hailing service – Grab Car.
He revealed that those using the Grab code: BINTANGCNY can enjoy a RM5 discount per ride to and from Bintang Megamall to any part of the city between Jan 22 to Feb 22. The discount is limited to first 5, 000 rides only.
