Nanyang Wushu to hold CNY festive show at Crown Tower tomorrow

KUCHING: The Nanyang Wushu Federation of Sarawak will hold ‘ Nanyang Wushu Chinese New Year Festival 2018’ at Crown Tower, Pending tomorrow beginning at 7pm, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration and to usher in the Year of the Dog.

Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang, who is also Padawan Municipal Council chairman will officiate at the event. Cultural and lion dances have been lined-up for the occasion. Members of the public are invited to witness the event.

The Nanyang Wushu Lion Dance troupe has participated in several competitions at state, national and International levels and has won the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lion Dance Festival 1987 / 1988, the Golden Lion Award of the International Wushu, Dragon & Lion Festival for the year 2002 / 2004 / 2008.

Members of the public can look forward to several special programmes which have been lined-up by the federation with other business organisations, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration. The Nanyang Wushu ‘Golden Lion Dance’ Festival and the Nanyang Wushu “Chinese New Year Extravaganza Show will be held on Feb 4 ( Sunday) and Feb 10 (Saturday) at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the instructorinchief of the federation Prof Dato Sri Dr Song Swee Hee said that the Nanyang Wushu Lion Dance Troupe would be visiting premises of patrons and supporters during the Chinese New Year.
