Winners of Parkson’s Shopperrif­ic Shop2Win Contest take home prizes worth up to RM300,000

KUCHING: Ban Yuat Wah, the 53- year- old who entered the Parkson’s Shopperrif­ic Shop2Win Contest, has this belief of ‘ Never try, never know’ which led her to the grand prize of a Honda Jazz worth RM75,000.

The contest – where prizes worth up to RM300,000 were up for grabs – was held in conjunctio­n with Parkson’s 30 Anniversar­y celebratio­n from September 4 to November 5, 2017.

Another grand prize winner, Tian Shih Li, was actually aiming for the prize of the trips but received an even better prize from Parkson.

Both grand prize winners were presented with their winnings by Parkson Retail Asia chief executive officer Mike Remsen and HZN Cars Sdn Bhd Syed executive director Amir Aljunid, co- partner for the contest.

“My husband always say if you try you stand a chance, if you don’t you have zero chance. You’ll never know when will the luck strikes,” said Ban from Bukit Mertajam when asked about her expectatio­n when she joined the contest.

She recounted their story at the ceremony held in Parkson Maju Junction Shopping Mall recently. Tian, who is a loyalty shopper at Parkson, revealed that she will give the car to her sister in Ipoh. Such is sisterly love.

Besides the Grand Prize of Honda Jazz, Parkson also presented the first prize of a four days/ three nights trip to Shanghai, China for two person with additional RM5,000 Parkson Gift Voucher to Poroni Aris who flew in from Miri, Sarawak to attend this ceremony.

Also from Sarawak, second prize winner William Ting Ing Kong won a four days/ three nights trip to Qingdao for two persons with additional RM5,000 Parkson Gift Voucher.

Third and fourth prize of a four days/ three nights trip to Bali, Indonesia and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam with additional RM5,000 Parkson gift voucher where presented to Kow Lai Meng and They Gik Hua who were from Cheras and Rawang, respective­ly.

The holiday trips are to destinatio­ns where Parkson stores are also located. The winners will have the opportunit­y to visit and experience shopping at Parkson in different countries as well as soak in the culture.

There were also attractive consolatio­n prizes, three units of Vespa S IGET 125 won by Mohd Ermy A Rahman from Melaka, Liew Chain Yee from Sabah and Chow Fong Sean from Kepong, three units of Montague Navigator Foldable Bicycle to Phang Hui Lee, Siti Shorgayah and Salmah Bt Abdul Majid from Penang, Sarawak and Perak respective­ly.

Parkson also gave away four units of Krups Drop Coffee Machines and Acca Kappa Gift Sets and additional RM3,000 Parkson gift vouchers to 10 more winners.

Over 500,000 entries were received across 45 Parkson stores in Malaysia and the process of sorting and judging took nearly two months.

The final selection of the Top 30 winners were conducted in mid- December 2017 at Parkson Headquarte­r in Klang in the presence management and an auditor.
