PDP nominates Subeng Mula as BN candidate for Saratok

-

SARATOK: Progressive Democratic Party ( PDP) is confident that its sole nominee would be endorsed as a candidate to defend Saratok parliamentary seat for the Barisan Nasional ( BN) in the upcoming 14th general election.

Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat, who had been appointed by the party as director of operation for Saratok, said the party’s top leadership had picked businessman Subeng Mula as the most winnable candidate from among the few aspirants.

“Subeng is the only PDP nominee to defend Saratok and his name has been submitted for endorsement of top BN leadership,” he said during a ‘leader with the people’ gathering at Rumah Bennet Buan, Ulu Risau, Krian recently.

He believes, being a local man with good academic qualification and rich working experience in the public and private sector, Subeng is capable of meeting the aspirations and expectations of Saratok people.

As most of the local voters had indicated their strong support for BN, Subeng should be their perfect choice, Rolland said, explaining that PDP as a component of BN is custodian of the Saratok seat.

Ever since its formation, PDP (formerly SPDP) had never failed to defend Saratok seat for BN, including during the last general election when the incumbent successfully won the seat as the party’s candidate.

Very hopeful that the PDP nominee would be endorsed as BN’s candidate, Rolland called on the people of Saratok, especially the supporters of BN, to close ranks to ensure a convincing victory.

Tuai Rumah Bennet Buan, on behalf of the about 500 people of his longhouse including some 50 longhouse headmen from nearby areas, pledged their full support to the BN candidate. Among those present were PDP Krian youth chief councillor Jeffery Jimbun and other local PDP leaders.
