Morshidi: Business Excellence programme can produce organisati­ons of calibre

KUCHING: The implementa­tion of Business Excellence programme in Sarawak will produce organisati­ons that are excellent, and capable of getting Malaysia in the right business path.

State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshid Abdul Ghani said organisati­ons in Sarawak needed changes, and the programme would lift them to a higher level.

He said he always wanted to see more organisati­ons in Sarawak to be known, not only locally, but also in the global arena capable of competing with the global players.

“I believe with continuous effort and much commitment these organisati­ons can make it a reality,” he said before officiatin­g at the ‘ CEO Talk (series 1/2018) the 4th Industrial Revolution -The CEO Dilemma’ held at Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak premises in Batu Kawa here yesterday.

The programme was organised by the Ministry of Internatio­nal Trade and Industry, Malaysia Productivi­ty Corporatio­n ( MPC), and Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak.

Morshidi said Malaysian Business Excellence Framework ( MBEF) is a holistic approach to produce excellent organisati­ons through best practice in management, system and process. It is being monitored by Global Excellence Model Council (Gem).

He said Malaysia is represente­d by MPC and members of Gem which include 11 countries namely USA, several European countries, Japan, Australia and Singapore.

“MBEF has seven dimensions of excellence­s; leadership, planning, inofrmatio­n,customer, people, process and results. I think safety should be included as well,” he said.

Morshidi also proposed that all organisati­ons in Sarawak foster closer ties with MPC Sarawak region, and to implement various business excellence programmes in their organisati­ons.

“I understand that MPC Sarawak region has 56 developmen­t capacity programmes this year, starting with basic, to intermedia­te and to advance programme.

Tabung Baitumal Sarawak general manager Datu Abang Mohd.Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie, a speaker for the programme who is chairman of the Board of Directors of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia ( USIM) Tan Sri Dato Professor Dzulkifli Abdul Razak and regional director of MPC Sarawak Tengku Azmi Tengku Majid were also present.
