Harness benefits from current technologi­cal boom, Muslims encouraged

LIMBANG: Every Muslim must take advantage of today’s rapid technologi­cal advancemen­t in pursuing knowledge, which is an obligation in Islam.

In this regard, Assistant Minister of Agricultur­e Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail encourages fellow Muslims to master skills and knowledge across various fields not only for current needs, but also for the future.

He believes that there are many means of learning and acquiring knowledge to equip Muslims to become successful during their time here on Earth and also in ‘akhirat’ (the thereafter).

“Still, the most viable way is through face-to-face session like what is conducted in today’s gathering.

“In Islam, it is an obligation for us Muslims to seek knowledge,” he spoke the ‘Women and Family Seminar 2018’ here run by the Malaysian Muslim Welfare Organisati­on ( Perkim) Limbang branch and Limbang District Islamic Permanent Committee for Celebratio­ns recently, where his wife Dayang Maimunah Awang Mohd Daud who is also Perkim Limbang chairperso­n, Limbang Walikota Sufian Mohat and Limbang Islamic Affairs Department officer Awang Abdul Rahim Awang Rosely were also present.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is Bukit Kota assemblyma­n, also acknowledg­ed the key role played by Limbang District Islamic Permanent Committee for Celebratio­ns in planning and running various programmes meant to give positive impact to the local Muslim community and at the same time, prevent them from being involved in ill activities.

Later, he presented an allocation of RM15,000 to Perkim Limbang.
