JCI Malaysia opens nominations for Creative Young Entrepreneur Award
S I BU: Ju n i o r Ch amb e r International (JCI) Malaysia is calling for nominations for its Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (JCI CYEA) themed `Inspire the Next’. Nominations for the award open from Feb 2 to June 30 this year.
The 12th annual award will be hosted by JCI Penang. It is to recognise and honour exceptional creative young entrepreneurs.
The event organising chairman Jee Soo Lip told a press conference here on Monday the award is also to foster entrepreneurial spirit among the youths while encouraging creativity and innovativeness.
Also at the press conference were Sibu Municipal Council chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King, JCI Malaysia national president’s representative JCI Senator Kelvin Chew and JCI national secretarygeneral Ellen Lu.
“JCI CYEA is a platform for entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 40 years who are business owners/ directors, and who are primarily responsible for the start-up of a new business and/or implement creative measures or method that resulted in positive outcomes in their business operations,” Jee stated.

Jee said the top three winners would be announced on Sept 1 at the 2018 JCI CYEA Grand Award ceremony night which will be held at Penang Straits Quay Convention Centre.
All nominees and sponsors are invited to join Creative Business Expo to be held on the same day, he said, adding one lucky winner would then be selected to represent Malaysia as panel speaker at the Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs ( CAAYE) summit.
This year the top 30 finalists will be invited for a business and community service trip to Cambodia.
“JCI CYEA of fers young entrepreneurs the gateway to international markets,” he said, adding that winners have the chance to mingle and exchange ideas with entrepreneurs from overseas, international companies and governments.
