Outstandin­g STPM, SPM students called to apply for cash awards

KUCHING: STA Mutual Sdn Bhd ( STAM), a subsidiary company of Sarawak Timber Associatio­n ( STA), is calling on outstandin­g STPM and SPM students to apply for its cash awards.

According to a press release received here yesterday, the successful applicants will receive either RM550 for SPM or RM650 for STPM.

The objective is to develop and improve the welfare of communitie­s in Sarawak, irrespecti­ve of race or religion, by providing cash awards to outstandin­g SPM and STPM students who sat for the examinatio­ns in 2017.

The project started in 2016 as part of STA’s corporate social responsibi­lity efforts in recognisin­g and encouragin­g excellent students.

Applicants must be a Sarawakian or of Sarawakian parentage, who obtained either a minimum of 8As for SPM or 2As for STPM, and who sat for the examinatio­ns in 2017 in schools throughout Sarawak.

Students must send applicatio­n forms duly completed together with a certified true copy of their results, and supported by all the required documents to STA Mutual Sdn Bhd, 11 Floor, Wisma STA, 26, Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim, 93450 Kuching, Sarawak on or before April 9, 2018.

Applicatio­n forms are available at STA’s official website www. sta.org. my. Only completed applicatio­n forms will be considered.

The decision by the STA Cash Awards Selection Panel is final. Should the number of applicatio­ns received before the closing date exceeds the number of cash awards allocated, applicatio­ns will be selected based on their results and the time when the applicatio­ns were received.

The names of successful applicants will be published on www. sta. org. my, four months after the closing date.
