‘Anyi hard-working, people-oriented elected rep’

-

MIRI: Serving Baram the biggest parliamentary constituency in the country is a very challenging task, and one that needs a hard-working and people- oriented leader to do the job.

“With more than 300 villages, longhouses and settlements, it is almost impossible for its MP Anyi Ngau to visit and serve everybody in the constituency within five years.

“There is a tendency for several areas to be overlooked,” Telang Usan PBB Youth chief Cr Dominic Nyurang said.

PBB Telang Usan Youth came to Anyi’s defence of allegations and claims made by certain quarters that the MP did not go down to the ground often to meet and serve the people in Baram.

“In big areas like Baram, it is almost impossible to cover all the areas in a short time. Many areas may be overlooked,” he added when asked for his comment on the allegations. “Unlike opposition leaders who only appear just before and during election time, BN representatives are almost present all year round.

Anyi has a proven track records as a hard-working and people- oriented people’s elected representative. He is always on the ground to be with the people,” he added.

He added that the current Baram Barisan Nasional Team is the best one they ever had in Baram. The team consists of Telang Usan assemblymen Dennis Ngau, Mulu assemblyman Dato Gerawat Gala, Marudi assemblyman Datu Dr Pengguang Manggil and Baram MP Anyi Ngau.

They have been working hard together and successfully bringing development and changes to the people in Baram.

“We need to give full support and co- operation to this team to ensure development continuity in Baram,” he said.
