Uggah, who is also Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, said the state government was also putting strong emphasis on transforming the agricultural activities.
“The state government is looking at organising various programmes to ensure that by 2030, Sarawak can become a net exporter of various produces, including fruits, to the wider market.”
Uggah hoped that a collection, processing and packaging centre, to be set up in Long Lama this year, would encourage the production and collection of local produce for a wider market.
“With vast land for agricultural activities and the hard-working people in the rural areas, we are confident that we will be able to produce and market our produce worldwide. This is one of developments that we are looking into and we hope that the people can give their cooperation to the government in order to improve their lives,” he said.
